School is back and everyone has returned to work but that doesn't mean summer is over. Check out these hot free events this month.
1. City of Perth World Buskers Weekend
When: Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th February
Where: Murray and Hay Street Malls
Cost: Free/donation

A bit like a sample bag of the much larger Fringe World Festival, the Buskers Weekend showcases over 100 performers on seven stages across three days. While technically a free event, you are encouraged to donate (the amount is your choice) and you will be able to see a range of acts including magic, comedy, acrobats, dance and more. Suitable for a general audience, the times are Friday 5pm- 9pm and Saturday/Sunday 11am -4pm.
2. Opera In The Park: La Boheme
When: Saturday 3rd February, from 8pm-10pm
Where: Supreme Court Gardens, Perth

A favourite event with Perth's opera lovers, The West Australian Opera will be performing Puccini's masterpiece, La Boheme. Sung in Italian (with English subtitles) it will tug at your heart strings and will be a perfect introduction to anyone new to opera. Free programs will be available and this is suitable for all ages.
3. Summer Concerts in the Park Series
When: every Sunday in February, from 5.30pm-7pm
Where: parks across Nedlands
Cost: Free

With one of Perth's top bands playing every weekend, the Summer Concerts in the Park series is an outstanding (and long-standing) event that is family friendly and the best way to finish your weekend. Bring a picnic or buy some dinner (sausage sizzle, pizza, icecream). Each event will also have free activities for the kids including a bouncy castle and face painting.
4. Harbour Sundays
When: every Sunday in February from 5pm
Where: WA Maritime Museum, Victoria Quay, Fremantle
Cost: Free

Supported by RTRFM and hosted by the Western Australian Maritime Museum's, this live music series will be held on the Museum's balcony at Victoria Quay and will feature local DJs and bands. Watch the sunset over the water as you groove to some of Perth's favourite bands.
5. Artist Open Studio
When: Sunday 4th and Sunday 11th February, from 10am-4pm
Where: various artists' studios across City of Stirling
Cost: Free

Be inspired over two weekends as you visit the studios and galleries of eleven of Perth's impressive artists as part of the Summerset Festival. You will be able to meet the artists, ask them questions, see their artworks and more.
6. Summerset Concert
When: Saturday 10th February from 5pm-9.30pm
Where: Stirling Civic Gardens
Cost: Free

The closing event of the City of Stirling's Summerset Festival, this is an all ages concert that has a number of acts including Harts, The VANNS and more and there will also be food trucks. Make a night of it.
7. Outdoor Concert by Perth Symphony Orchestra
When: 10 February 2018
Where: Claremont Park

Named Love is all around Claremont, this event consists of a free concert by the Perth Symphony Orchestra performing their romantic repertoire (Saturday 10 February) as well as a weekend of romantic movies (10, 11 and 12 March) on a large outdoor screen. Perth Symphony Orchestra Touring Ensemble will be playing popular songs such as Ed Sheeran, INXS and Robbie Williams, and the movies include Love Actually, Beauty and the Beast and Pride & Prejudice.
8. Daryl Braithwaite Free Community Concert
When: Saturday 10th February, from 7pm
Where: Victor George Kailis Oval, Cockburn

9. A Romance of Writers - Fiona Palmer, Rachel Johns and Anthea Hodgson

10. Chinese New Year

Celebrate Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dog with a huge free festival with plenty of amazing things to see and do. As well as plenty of delicious food to buy there will be lion and dragon dancing, a parade, stalls, a multicultural concerts plus rides and games and other activities.
