Toowoomba's Repertory Theatre Society is a tried and true local institution, providing thought-provoking dramas and witty comedies to local audiences for 90 years, since 1930.



I have both attended shows as an audience member and acted on stage with Rep, as it's fondly known, and enjoyed every experience I had there.

As a society and a not for profit, the theatre is a private building with a beautiful vintage interior and comfortable seating. It has a bar and provides wine and nibbles before the show and at interval. The theatre community in Toowoomba is vibrant and shows, as a result, are produced at a high standard.

If I could recommend an event to attend, it would be any comedy production or festival series put on by the Society. In a beautiful, historic building, with cafes just next door on either side, it's a good opportunity for dinner and a show through the year, with 5 or 6 plays produced every year.

Rep has always priced tickets affordably under $30 and it provides a chance both to support local artists and enjoy a great night of entertainment.
