Immerse yourself in a sea of art at the Toowoomba Grammar School Art Show 2016. Wander the maze of artworks finding your own headspace or have fun with your gang of fellow art-appreciators. Every year provides endless joy as you become lost in the moment of each artwork. You can take a coffee break and return to the gallery all day if you like. There's a separate cafe for us peasants, compared to the $40 scrumptious High Tea.
This year's feature artist is Laura Douglas. Young, gorgeous and gifted, Laura's brush loves to capture a horse in full gallop. Her recent series 'Polo Delight' will be on display at the Grammar School Art Show this year. These whimsical horses have perky personalities; works that succeed in Laura's desire to delight and uplift. One of her other works is 'Fiorente', a celebration of one of that famous horse's wins. Laura loves to paint on linen with oils and acrylics as well as enjoying photography.
For a preview of this year's works on display visit Facebook or Instagram.
The Grammar Art Show is sponsored by Toowoomba BMW, the Heritage Bank and others who've generously donated raffle prizes worth $10,000. For a mere $2 you could win three nights at a Noosa resort, a fabulous artwork, pampering, trekking, dining, theatre or Grammar School branded clothing. Easy purchase online.
The gallery is contained within the historic school's Assembly Hall. There's loads of parking, though off campus could be a little easier. Grab an artworks listing on the way in and take a day off from washing or maybe even invest in something beautiful and lasting.
