Your challenge: escape the room in 59 minutes
The Toowoomba Escape Room is a real-life escape game in which conundrums are hidden in the room to facilitate your escape, preferably in 59 minutes or less. Teams of players work together to build their initiative, group cooperation, observation skills and intellect to complete a set of tasks. The Toowoomba Escape Room guarantees the experience will be fun, adventurous and riddled with intrigue.

Newly opened, at present one room is available: The Leonardo da Vinci Room. King Francis the First rules in 1518 and your team are his guardians, protecting Leonardo da Vinci's workshop. You are very French non? One fateful evening da Vinci enters his workshop but never comes out. Your team are the fall guys for his disappearance, but if you can locate Leonardo following clues inside the workshop, the King will allow you to live. 'You have one hour' he threatens, 'or you will be executed.' The Leonardo da Vinci room puzzles must be completed in the correct order to unlock its secrets. Difficulty rating is six out of ten.

The room Lockdown in Chernobyl will be added by the beginning of June and provide the thrill of a disaster scenario sans real danger. Become an engineer in 1986 working in reactor four control room, when suddenly something begins to go wrong and you are sealed in the room due to lockdown procedures. The reactor is failing, but will your nerves? Your team's task is to repair the reactor prior to it going critical. The Lockdown in Chernobyl Room will have low lighting and the puzzles will be tougher than the Leonardo da Vinci Room.

Teams must be made up of two to six people. Costumes of any description are popular. The rooms are approximately the size of a master bedroom.

No one has ever panicked while playing, but be warned, players are requested not to use mobile phones, tablets or other electrical devices to enable immersion in the game, except in emergent circumstances. Surveillance cameras are in use at all times and assistance can be provided if a team is stuck or loses track of the time. Don't be alarmed by a graphic of handcuffs as no bondage is involved. The room remains unlocked at all times for fire safety purposes.

Take care to read the rules online prior to playing to ensure maximum enjoyment by being prepared. If your team can't solve the mystery within the hour a staffer will reveal the remainder of the clues or alternately, you may keep playing if a time slot is free after your game. You could also complete the room for free on Tuesdays or Wednesdays if that is more suitable.

Toowoomba Escape Room recommends this experience for your colleagues' next team-building workshop, students, groups of friends and families. Follow on Facebook.
