by Lynne Cargill (subscribe)
I'm a grandmother, a retired teacher, an avid reader who loves historical re-enactment, English Country Dance, writing and Op Shopping. My business www.StepIntoHistory.com.au is designed to help children experience history through school incursions.
Event:
History in Pictures
If you are interested in the history of Brisbane, you will enjoy this talk being given by Judith Marks. She will be discussing the Marks-Drury Family and their life in early Brisbane.

The Marks and the Drury Families were prominent in political, legal and medical circles in Wickham Terrace and later in Toowong. Ms Marks will supplement her presentation with images showing family life during the time of the Marks's family 's residence in Toowong (ca.1920s-1950s). The slides are sourced from the Marks-Drury collection of glass negatives, and include images of Brisbane at the turn of the century. Some of these were taken by family ancestor, the late AV Drury of the Queensland National Bank. This collection of images has never been published.
