Chugga-Latte at this Toy Store Cafe
Fancy a flat white that you can enjoy while it is still hot, without toddlers hanging off of your limbs? Meet your Mummy-friends at Toot Toot Toys' new cafe; let the kids play for free on one of the many toy tables, including Thomas and Friends, Chuggington, Sylvan Family tree house, and LEGO.
Toot Toot Toys boasts Australia's biggest range of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends (over 800 different items) including the Wooden Railway, Take Along Thomas, Early Engineers Wooden Railway, Take-n-Play Thomas, Thomas & Friends TrackMaster, Tomy Motor Road & Rail, Bachmann model railway, LEGO, toys, books, puzzles, games, party supplies, scrapbooking needs, homewares, accessories, clothing, PC & console games, DVDs and items for the youngest Thomas fan (infants and toddlers). Much of Toot Toot Toys' newest Thomas stock is based on the recently released Tale of the Brave Thomas and Friends movie. Chuggington, BRIO wooden railway, and a wide range of toy trains and products with a train theme are also available.
LEGO is also a major feature at Toot Toot Toys, with competitive prices on all of the latest LEGO (Chima, Star Wars, City) and LEGO Friends sets.
If you are as desperate as me for caffeine on any given day, you will be going for more than just a snoop at the sale prices. Head straight to the back of the store for some liquid gold, while your tots get caught up in some creative play at one of the many tables. The aisles are gloriously wide, accepting prams or wheelchairs of all sizes. Tables can be easily grouped together for various meet-ups with friends.
The cafe brews a mean latte and flat white; the barista knows her stuff. Also on offer: most espresso-based drinks, babyccinos, a variety of teas, and a small selection of packaged snacks. Don't be in too big a hurry if it's busy, as they are still ironing out some wrinkles with efficiency. I think they were surprised and a bit overwhelmed by the popularity of their own idea of adding a cafe to the toy store just last month (July, 2014).
Open six days a week, Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturdays 10:00am to 4:00pm (closed on Victorian public holidays); shop online at www.TootTootToys.com.au.
