You can gauge the success of accommodation by whether you would return.

I will definitely return to .

Sequestered from what feels like everything, you have views of the valley outside and plenty of surrounding countryside in which to walk.

Fully self-contained with a kitchen, there is also a small room to sleep two children if necessary. But you probably won't want to bring the kids.

If there are up to 11 of you, you will be exceedingly comfortably accommodated in Tonimbuk House's lovely homestead , which is on the same property but far enough away that if there's just two of you and it's solitude you want, you'll get it in spades in the cottage.

If you want to just hang around inside, staying in bed is pretty easy with such a pretty window and view.

You could be miles away. In reality, you're only an hour and 15 minutes from the CBD.

Tariffs for are $210 for a single weekend night per couple; two weekend nights is $350. Prices include breakfast provisions - which, when we were there, included eggs from the homestead and Lindsay and Roz McNaught's freshly-baked bread.

For bookings and enquiries call Lindsay and Roz on (03) 5629 8563. For more info, see the website .
