A large lake on Oats Street in the middle of the suburb of Kewdale is a huge attraction for locals and visitors alike. There is so much to do at - have a go at one, some or all of these activities.


There is a 1.6km paved track that circles the lake. It is marked off at each 100m to encourage the runner, jogger or walker. The path is also suitable for bikes and scooters.

While travelling around the track stop to have a look at the variety of birdlife in the area. Our untrained eyes managed to find five different types of birds including ducks, black swans and ibis.


Have a go at the fitness equipment located on the right hand side of the pathway. There are a range of machines with different exercises to do and comes complete with a set of instructions.There is swing set, a climbing net with two balancing poles dangling from it and a basketball area around the track too.


Relaxing at the far end of the lake across the bridges and in the gazebo is a must do. Standing there and listening to the sounds of the waterbirds around you, you could be easily forget that you are in the middle of suburbia.


The kids will love the huge playground. There are spinning wheels that the kids can sit on as well as rocking rides. The main play structure has balancing beams, net climbs, bumpy slides, spinning platforms and balancing poles. There is also a pentagonal 3D structure with footholds for kids to climb up on. There is a smaller play structure for the little kids and they have their own steps, bridges and slides to play on. Monkey bars are an essential part of outdoor play equipment and the ones at hang from the beam above which increases the difficulty level a little.




Picnicking is a popular activity at the lake and there are lots of big trees providing shade, benches, picnic tables and plenty of grassed areas for your rug. BBQs are clean and ready to be used.


A set of extremely modern toilets which are ultra clean and plays music and an on site café finish off the facilities at the park. Bring your family down as there is no shortage of things to do down at .
