What do you get when you bring together 30 tonnes of Roma tomatoes, thousands of happy costume-clad revellers, musical entertainment and a bit of doing good for a charitable institution? Tomato Battle , that's what. Come along to Doomben Racecourse on Saturday 23 January 2016 for all the flinging fun of the ultimate in food fights, brought to you by Ausome Productions.

No horses will be harmed in the making of this epic battle but thousands of spoiled or unused tomatoes marked for recycling will sacrifice all their squelchy goodness in the name of fun and Tomato Battle's global charity partner, feedONE . When you're dodging tomatoes, pelting your friends, or wiggling your toes in a sea of sauce you'll be doing it for a good cause. Tomato Battle's partnership with feedOne means that a minimum of 100 underprivileged children will be fed for a month. And, all the used tomatoes will be shovelled up and taken back to the farm to be ploughed back into the earth as fertiliser. 360° fun.

But it's not all about the tomatoes. #97 ">Tomato Battle Brisbane is an afternoon of entertainment, with food stalls, and a number of bars, which makes this a strictly 18 event. The musical entertainment line up for Brisbane is still to be announced. There will be ATMs onsite but the ingenious FastBar system will also be in operation, which means you don't have to bring cash or your credit card. You can pay for your drinks through a wristband linked to your credit card. Find out about FastBar here .

Gates will be open from 1pm with musical acts at 1.15pm and 2.15 pm, with all the action of the epic battle at 4pm, followed by more music, with everything done and dusted by 6pm.

Participants are advised to wear old, casual clothing that you don't mind getting messy. It's also a good idea to wear goggles because tomato juice can sting. Try coming in costume — you probably won't be the only giant tomato there but you'll have the opportunity to win $100. Every Tomato Battle participant can also have free photos taken by professional photographers — you know, something to add to your Facebook page.
