There has been no shortage of varied interpretations and performances of Macbeth but Tom Skelton's one-man version is certainly unique and comical. I would hazard a guess Shakespeare would be intrigued and entertained.

Claiming the quote "Life ... is a tale, Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing" describes his show, Tom leapt from scene to scene, one minute playing Macbeth with passion and gusto then the Three witches' breathing menacing prophecies. Then with frantic changes of props and costumes, he bounced from King Duncan to Lady Macbeth. This humorous high-energy version of the play included Tom bantering with himself as Macbeth and his producer Rufus and even heckling himself about his preparation, performance and decisions.

To add to the uniqueness of this performance, Tom Skelton is registered blind. He intersperses hilarious anecdotes of his experiences of being visually impaired between scenes of the Shakespearean play. Fortunately, he says it's okay to laugh with someone who is visually impaired because the audience were certainly laughing at his unusual and comical experiences.

A character comedian and improviser, Tom Skelton has had four smash hits at Edinburgh: Blind Eye Spy, Blind Man's Bluff, Foolball and 2061. He works with the BAFTA-winning History Bombs and is a founding member of UK improv comedy group Racing Minds.

Tom is also starring in Adventures of the Improvised Sherlock Holmes and Improv Allstars at Fringe World.
