Frequently cited in articles on Brisbane's best dog-friendly cafes, I was more than surprised when I realised Todd & Pup Cafe had yet to be covered on WeekendNotes. Of course, I had to cover it myself, and went the very next morning at 6am before work. Eddy was very happy to have an unexpected early morning out!

Parking is not an issue here, as there is plenty of parking in adjacent streets. I love how Todd & Pup Cafe is laid out, with the outdoor seating area almost enclosed, and covered with artificial grass. I was very happy to find so many dog water bowls around as Eddy, being a pug, needs to drink very often! There was, of course, indoor seating options too.

Todd & Pup have one menu page consisting of breakfast items (served until 11:30am), and one of lunch items (from 11:30am onwards). There was a wide variety of items to choose from (including daily specials), and it took my friend and I quite some time to decide what to eat!

I ended up opting for the 'breads and preserves' (choosing peanut butter and strawberry), with 3 sides - avocado, haloumi, and bacon. My friend decided on the 'Moroccan Shakshuka, with chorizo, mixed beans, tomato, ricotta, poached egg, dukkah, coriander, and sourdough bread. Service was extremely quick, which we were grateful for because we were quite hungry at this point!

Lucky Eddy was allowed a small piece of bread with some peanut butter on it - it was so good he literally inhaled it.
Needless to say, the food was as good as the presentation, if not better. However, a meal is never complete without a drink, so of course I had to order a drink too. Their drinks menu can be found on the right-hand side of their breakfast and lunch menus. Having just returned from a holiday in the UK, I was craving for some 'proper', brewed tea, so I ordered the English Breakfast Tea - it brought back heaps of memories from my trip. Thanks Todd & Pup!

Speaking of drinks, Todd & Pup is open till 9pm on Friday nights. It's the perfect way to kick back after a week of work and just unwind, hopefully with lots of dogs surrounding you! They have an extensive (alcoholic) drinks menu, encompassing a wide variety of wines and beers. It's hard finding a dog friendly bar, so I'm looking forward to coming back on a Friday night someday.

Hidden in the backstreets of a suburb with fairly large residential areas, Todd & Pup has a relaxing ambience that makes for a perfect meal out with your favourite people (and pets). If you've got little ones and are worried about keeping them entertained while you enjoy your meal, fear not, because Todd & Pup has got it covered with their own little kid's section!

We had such a great morning here at Todd & Pup - we enjoyed great food, amazing ambience, and were especially appreciative of the super friendly staff that work here. Thanks for having us, Todd & Pup - Eddy and I hope to see you guys again soon.
