Clearly mark Tuesday 22 November 2016, 6 to 7pm, in your diary! It's the day you need to gather in huge numbers at the steps of Parliament House on 1 Spring St, Melbourne. Stand together and demonstrate to show your growing support for the Great Forest National Park and collectively call for its creation. This is the perfect day, when MPs from across Victoria will be meeting in Parliament House for a sitting week.
Placards, banners and the ubiquitous animal suits will be supplied. Be there at 6pm sharp for a group photo. This photo will aid in reaching and influencing many people, including some key decision makers. After the photo, you can help to hand out flyers to the public, at Parliament train station for half an hour. If you do need to leave straight after the photo, you can pick up a bundle of flyers to distribute in your local area.
A number of these actions have been held at Parliament, over the last two years. Each time, it has made an impact. It's critical to demonstrate, to show our political leaders that the community is continuing to call for action on the Park, and to show that the numbers have grown in strength. How much of a presence we have and how big this demonstration is going to be to save our environment, depends entirely on you coming and bringing friends.
Make it MASSIVE, and help create a very positive and visual celebration of our forests. Come along and stand in solidarity on the steps of Parliament! The forest is a necessary part of our ecosystem.
