Taking us back to yesteryear, Sunshine Coast Libraries are celebrating Queensland Seniors Week with the smashing 1967 hit classic, To Sir, with Love . This British feel-good drama, starring Sidney Poitier, Christian Roberts, Judy Geeson, Suzy Kendall and singer Lulu, making her film debut, will surely evoke poignant memories of bygone days, with its showing at the Eumundi Drive-In.

The award-winning To Sir, with Love film is based on E. R. Braithwaite's 1959 autobiographical novel, of the same name. To Sir, with Love deals with social issues in a tough London East End high school, with Sidney Poitier playing Mark Thackery, an out-of-work engineer, who takes up a teaching job, implementing his own style of discipline in class. While the rowdy students initially see Thackery as just another teacher open for ridicule and bullying, Thackery's calm disposition and desire to see the students succeed, gradually earns him, their trust and respect.
