For children interested in learning more about one of the most common visitors to gardens, the Insect Investigators workshop held on Monday 23 January 2023 at Adelaide Botanic Garden allows them to learn more about insects. This is a collaborative citizen science project led by South Australian Museum and is aimed at involving schools in the efforts to document, discover and describe Australia's unique invertebrate biodiversity.

At the workshop, participants will learn about the Insect Investigators project and the role of citizen science. After this, participants get to catch insects using special insect collecting nets and then using microscopes to investigate their findings. This knowledge can then be applied back at home or in the communities.

If you are interested in taking part click here where there is a link to book a spot for your desired time slot. Participants will need to turn up 10 minutes prior to the workshop's start in order to check in.
