Tiny Homes Open Day was a great way to actually step foot inside these cute tiny homes which are on display at their workshop and factory in Ringwood. The event was organised to raise awareness of Melbourne's homeless.
So
Anchor (A Community Not for profit Housing & Support service) and Tiny Homes Australia have partnered up to raise funds and build two tiny homes, which will be used as flexible and transportable emergency housing for those in need. It will help provide safe, clean and secure homes which will provide a base for people to get back on their feet.
They have started a
GoFundMe goal of $100,000 to raise funds for two tiny home builds that will be donated to the homeless. To contribute to this campaign you can do so via their
GoFundMe campaign.
Tiny Homes Australia offers a range of services, from planning and designing to building onsite or off-site, their team will assist you throughout.
A tiny house is whatever you want it to be! Traditionally built on a trailer to remove the need for building permits, these tiny houses can be used to rent out on Airbnb, within caravan parks or to live in. It really is up to you, and your vision, what you will be using your tiny house for. These houses can have kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities and can sleep up to 6 people comfortably, depending on size.
The Hillside was one of my favourites on display! A colonel themed residence with a stylish interior, cathedral ceilings, timber bench tops and the loft bedroom. It also has a sizeable kitchen with builtin stainless steel oven. The bathroom with a full-sized shower and flushing toilet. The lounge area has a flat screen LED TV and beautiful timber look floors throughout.
The Scandinavian inspired "The High Country" is minimalist yet features a large kitchen, breakfast bar/dining space for two, room for a raised double bed with a large picture window and built-in storage.
These homes are professionally built and offers a sustainable, low cost, lifestyle option without comprising on quality! You could set one up as a guest space on your property, to host friends, family and travellers from Airbnb. Or you may want to downsize and live in your very own Tiny House and have the freedom to move around.
With the Australian housing market reaching a point of unaffordability, many people are looking into Tiny Homes as an option, giving them the financial freedom to travel, save and play in your own way. The possibilities are endless!
