This January, Australia's renowned interactive children's theatre producers are bringing together Tinkerbell and the Dream Fairies in the enchanted Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne; find the fairies under the trees on Southern Cross Lawn, two skips, a jump and a flutter from the free Ian Potter Foundation Children's Garden.

Children two to seven years old and their grown ups will be twitterpated by this new 60 minute production from Glenn Elston (The Wind in the Willows, Alice in Wonderland, Caribbean Pirates on the Polly Woodside). The acrobatic fairy-filled adventure is full of activities, and magic that will tickle the imagination these school holidays.

Two tiny acrobatic fairies named Bing (Cierra Shook, 7) and Bong (Cameron Shook, 12), create a flurry of fun in TinkerBell and the Dream Fairies. The adventurous TinkerBell happens upon the fairies from A Midsummer Night's Dream, and travels from the Dream Forest with the cheeky Mustarded, fluttery Moth, daring Cobweb and sweet Peasblossom on a magical quest. Elston muses, "This summer we wanted to create an experience for our youngest audiences of all. Over all the years we have performed A Midsummer Night's Dream in the gardens, the fairies have always entranced our smallest spectators. Whenever we rehearsed the show during the day, small children would wander over to stare at the antics of Mustardseed and Peasblossom... TinkerBell's personality has a wonderful synergy with the Dream Fairies. Together they are just about the most adventurous and mischievous fairies of all! We're having so much fun developing this show, and working with early learning experts to ensure it will truly engage and inspire young minds and bodies."

Small audience members are invited to come dressed as a fairy or an elf. They will help TinkerBell and her Fairy Friends on their magical quest.

Cash sales are available at the on-site box office unless sold out, box office opens one hour prior to each performance.

What to bring: Come dressed as an elf or fairy. Pack a picnic full of goodies you like to eat and drink, a blanket or cushions to sit on, sunscreen, insect repellent and a hat.
