Since its beginnings in 1874, the has gone through a number changes. The current owners Brad Neilson & Damien Gannonut from Neilson's in Traralgon, have worked their magic and turned the into a fine dining venue. The hotel still has an original looking exterior with the veranda extending around the building, while the inside has been renovated with light walls and dark furnishings, thus, ensuring the focus is on the food!

The menu is small with only five or six different mains and a few starters and desserts, all of which are delicious. Half of the deliciousness is due to the fact that, the hotel tries to use local produce where possible and on this visit a number of dishes incorporated cheese from Maffra Diary.

And the result of having a small well-designed menu see customers continue to return for items such as the slow-cooked of cheek, the tasting plate, the pan fried gnocchi as well as the affogato!

Completing the delicious food is a nice selection of drinks and service which is relaxed yet impressive - making for the perfect place to go for lunch or dinner when you want something a little special!
