The 2015 Time Out Sydney Food Awards Ceremony was held at The Morrison Bar and Oyster Room on Monday 24 August 2015.

The Time Out Food Awards are an industry-recognised celebration of talent, voted by independent editors and reviewers. This is a trusted guide to find out the hottest, the coolest dining places in 2015.

I was excited to attend this event because an esteemed food-industry party, like this one, was sure to be filled with decent food, quality drinks and merry entertainment. The celebration party was extremely fun with more than 350 food-loving Sydneysiders attended this event.

The evening kicked off with a great start when we were greeted with an impressive champagne tower at the bar.

My first drink for the evening was the luxe Appletiser Botanical Cocktail and it set the right tone for the evening. The cocktail was infused with refreshing combination of gin, Appletiser, elderflower and a wedge of lime. I liked the cocktail so much, I didn't even get to try the Tyrrell's Wines and Yenda beers on offer.

The Awards Ceremony's finger food was supplied by The Morrison. They all looked delicate and gourmet, however the kitchen was not quick enough to feed all the happy, but hungry party attendees.

We started the evening with some healthy veggie sticks with eggplant and Tzatziki dips. It was a stormy cold evening, so these low carb, healthy entree snacks did not generate much interest.

Next came the The Morrison's famous fresh oysters. There were aplenty in supply and the staff kept them coming. The oysters were juicy and very fresh; I believe everyone had at least half a dozen of these good oysters.

My favourite finger food for the evening was the crab and lettuce tacos. The taco was cleverly served on a cos lettuce leaf with ample crab fillings. It was elegantly garnished with salmon caviar, fresh herbs, chilli, mayonnaise and light olive vinegar dressing. The taste was very refreshing with an unexpected chill kick afterwards.

After the cold entrees, the first hot food was the chicken lollipops with spicy sticky dipping sauce. These fried chicken morsels were exactly what everyone wanted after a few drinks. The bite-size chicken snack was tender soft and very addictive. The only annoyance with eating with your hands was the sticky sauce dripped everywhere.

After a long wait, the Lamb Chops with Green Sauce finally made its appearance. Clearly, these succulent lamb chops were the crowds' collectively favourite. They were all perfectly grilled and the green herb pesto dressing enhanced the flavour of the lamb.

I've kept my eyes out for the Oyster Po Boys. It was another popular party dish. The moment they were out of the kitchen, everyone was keen to get their hands on one of these. The fried oyster was lightly battered and tasted quite nice with a spiced mayonnaise and lettuce.

After everyone was fed and with another drink in hand, comedian Andrew McClelland MC'd the presentation ceremony and it was the time to announce the winners in each award category:
