Time Out Cafe is a trendy restaurant in a sophisticated meeting place and popular locale for us Melburnians - known as Federation Square.
It was a great Saturday night with a girlfriend, and one wasn't feeling too hungry. Timeout was perfect for us on this occasion, or so we thought. We decided to order a platter of different nachos, and while we were intrigued, we were a little disappointed when we received small serving sizes. My Asian girlfriend relished the spicy sauce; in other words the tabasco, yet it was too much for me. Frugal servings (for what we paid $30 - for eight minuscule pieces) and a hot mouth was too much to bear. The water works came alive.
Our culinary palettes became bored and certain, and thus wanted to settle for something simple, so the beef burger with chips was our next order; so unexpected and so passée. Still a little hungry we gave up on dessert and had this elsewhere. If you are after friendly service in a trendy restaurant and locale, and you don't give two hoots about the prices and the portion sizes of the food (in other words your not hungry or literally starving) then this restaurant is perfect.
