Looking for something different to do? Time Machine is a brand new festival, curated by Serial Space, of experimental time-based art. It's on from July 18 to 29.

What is Serial Space? The Serial Space collective are Tom Smith, Jennifer Hamilton, Kate Blackmore, Pia van Gelder and Frances Barrett. These 5 artists/curators aim to provide a place for time-based art forms and support non-traditional creativity through a wide range of mediums.

What is time based art? I'm not sure, but it sounds interesting!
Time machine will feature more than 50 Australian and international artists, including Alex White & Wrong Button Death Squad, Ella Barclay, Erk's Orchestra (Electronic Resonance Korps), and Sarah Byrne, creating performances, instillations, workshops, talks, experimental music and more. For a full program see the website

Time Machine will take place in several venues around Sydney, mainly in the Chippendale area. To sweeten the deal, most events are free!

What about food and drinks I hear you say? Freda's Bar and Canteen is the official festival bar, providing special Time Machine drinks at special times.
