He just keeps bringing live music to Brisbane
Tim Steward has been bringing music to Brisbane since 1990. Recently awarded a 'star' on the Brunswick St Mall 'Walk of Fame', I saw him perform at the recent Waxing Lyrical, where he discussed his early band Screamfeeder, working as a solo artist, and his most recent collaboration We All Want To.
Tim performed a recent Wednesday night residency at The Hideaway, in the Valley. It was mostly a solo affair, with selected musicians joining him each week. At December's Waxing Lyrical he discussed working solo, lamenting how tracks are recorded lush with sound, but can't be performed that way live, which is what led to the building up of five-piece band We All Want To, which has played at events such as 4senses in March 2012.
When asked if music was his full time vocation, Tim admitted that the money's just not in it. But when discussing plans for 2013, he seemed upbeat, telling the audience that there's an EP in the works, as well as touring, and writing their third album. Tim described these elements as perpetual.
You can catch Tim Steward performing as part of We All Want To, who have a slot at the Big Day Out on the Gold Coast on 20 January, 2013. Their website is located here. Like them on Facebook here to keep up-to-date.
