Michelin starred famous Hong Kong dim sum restaurant, Tim Ho Wan, finally opens its first branch overseas in Singapore! Famous for its char siew bun, even the flour used to make this bun is flown in especially from Hong Kong.

Besides the char siew bun, there is another 27 items on the menu including the famous ma lai gou (Steamed cake), lo bak gou (panfried turnip cake) and chee cheong fun (rice rolls with fillings such as pork liver, prawns or beef).

While the menu is more pricey than in Hong Kong due to rental and labour cost, the items are priced below SGD$2 still - thus retaining Tin Ho Wan's original low cost approach. The dim sum is said to be made fresh at order and never pre-steamed or reheated.

The cheapest Michelin-starred brand is going to be located at Plaza Singapura with 80 seats on 10 April 2013. Another outlet will be opened in Toa Payoh in the third quarter of 2013.
