A contemporary eatery, with a top-notch menu and interior so Instagrammable, I could stay there all day.
Okay, so let's start with the food. I visited for brunch and the menu didn't make it easy to choose. Options included granola, matcha pancakes, mushroom toast, smashed avocado, salad and eggs benedict amongst others.
Now as a brunch enthusiast I can't go past a good smashed avo - I think it's the best thing to judge a cafe on. Such a simple dish, but so many ways to jazz it up. I was certainly not disappointed in my decision, it was one of the best-smashed avocados I've ever had, and believe me, I've had a lot of smashed avos. The perfect portion size, with a big slice of crusty bread, topped with avo, hummus, fresh cheese, tomato and a poached egg. It all went together so well, and the fresh cheese was just the flavour it needed.
Tiisch is also open for lunch and dinner with plenty of salad options for the day and more homey cooking for the night. The dinner menu includes mussels, pasta, trout, lamb shoulder, and pork to name a few. And of course, there's dessert. You can order an espresso creme brulee, or dark chocolate tart (yes, please).
The interior of Tiish is just so on point, as people say. It's minimal, with pops of geometric shapes and a splash of light blue. The plants throughout give it a bit more homey feel. Really, it's just so aesthetic you want to sit in there all day taking photos and people watching. It's a great place to hang out with friends or set yourself up at a table to smash out some work or relax and read a book by yourself.
