As of late 2012, Tiger airways begun flying Melbourne to Adelaide. Have you been looking for a great weekend escape or even a day trip? Why not Adelaide?
If you keep your eye on the specials then you have the chance of snapping up flights for as little as $30 each way! That's cheaper than a trip to the cinema for two and definitely more adventurous.
Don't be one to turn your nose up at Adelaide either - before I moved there I certainly didn't see much to attract me, however I was definitely in the wrong! Perhaps you could head to the Fringe Festival in February to see some great comedy acts and other love entertainment. Why not a cricket match at the famous Adelaide Oval? Maybe a trip to Glenelg beach or the iconic town called Hahndorf? There really are some great things to do if you go hunting!
For as little as $60 return, you really can't go wrong! Take the kids on a holiday or perhaps a romantic trip for two for Valentines Day - who knows where it will take you!
Adelaide is a great weekender - though I would think twice about flying with Tiger : They have the worst employee wages and conditions across all the carriers. They have been recently grounded by safety regulators over grave safety concerns and on top of all that, they are completely foreign owned. If you have any interest in liveable wages, flexible conditions, jobs for your kids and profits for Australians - choose another airline. (any of the other 3).
