Located along Gouger Street in Adelaide, Tiffany Thai serves a good range of Thai cuisine. The dishes served here consist of a combination of dishes often associated with Thai cuisine along with a few more unusual dishes. During our visit, we ordered the Lemongrass Seafood, Salt & Pepper Chicken Mango and Muu Warn.
All the seafood in the Lemongrass Seafood was cooked just right, with the squid being notable for its tender consistency as squid is rubbery if it is overcooked. The snow peas, eggplant, capsicum and celery helped to add a bit of bite to the dish, with the lemongrass sauce lifting the flavour of the ingredients while the chilli in the sauce added a slight spicy hit to the dish.
The Salt & Pepper Chicken Mango dish had pieces of chicken that were fried to golden brown with the crisp coating contrasting nicely with the perfectly cooked meat. The mango sauce poured over the chicken had a flavour best described as being similar to a mango curry, with the right thickness to not make the coating of the chicken soggy. It was served on a small bed of lettuce and grated carrot, with cashew nuts adding a bit of crunch.
Muu Warn is a dish that consisted of pieces of pork belly, mushrooms and green vegetables stewed with palm sugar, ginger and chilli. The pieces of pork belly were tender enough to be easily cut with a spoon and were complemented nicely by the green vegetables and mushrooms. The sauce that the pork was cooked in rounded out the dish without being too hot for diners who are not used to spicy food.
Although small, the restaurant still had a very inviting ambience and is quite popular with the locals. There is a gluten-free menu available for customers who cannot eat gluten-based products. Off-street parking is available within walking distance at the nearby U Park at Central Market. Tiffany Thai is listed in the 2015/2016 Entertainment Book with an offer of 25% off the total bill, up to $25 in value.
