Thynne Road Deli & Cafe

Located near Morningside train station, Thynne Road Deli & Cafe is a local gem well worth visiting if you're in the neighbourhood. The decor is a little uninspiring, but the family-run cafe is always busy and has a friendly atmosphere. With plenty of outdoor seating, it's a great place to watch the world go by.

The Breakfast and Lunch options, prepared daily using fresh, organic ingredients by owner and chef, Richard Gruber, are superb. Despite visiting the cafe regularly, I am finding it difficult to sample the broader menu. I always end up ordering one of two options each time I go, as they are so good. The white chocolate and pistachio slice is the perfect treat with coffee. For brunch, the sweetcorn and halloumi fritters with grilled chorizo and poached eggs ($17.50) surely can't be beaten? The cafe also serves a great selection of freshly squeezed juices and smoothies and has a good range of gluten free and vegetarian options.
