Get ready for a 'grape' day out
Throwing of the Grape is to WA what La Tomatina is to Spain; a great, messy celebration of fruit.

Whip out those board shorts and bathers and prepare to get graped.

Held on Saturday 23 February at Oakover Winery in the Swan Valley, Throwing of the Grape is a summer's day filled with wine tasting, live music, entertainment and activities guzzled down with some good, old fashioned, juicy grape stomping and throwing.

This is the 3rd annual Throwing of the Grape which celebrates the first wine harvest at Oakover Winery. But have no fear - the grape throwing will happen in a fenced off area of the grounds so if being covered in rich purple juice isn't quite you're bag and you'd rather just be a spectator to the big grape fight you can set yourself up on a picnic rug and just enjoy the ambience or join in the fun of the non-grape activities.

Rock out in the Red Bull Silent Disco, throw on some head gear for battle in inflatable gladiator jousting, try your rodeo skills on the mechanical bull or simply spend your day sampling wines and lazing about in the Sangria tent.

Tickets are $80 or for a ticket and transport from South Perth foreshore and back - $90.
