Check out this CBD cafe's suspended coffee philanthropy
Every once in a while you hear about a way to make a difference in other people's lives that is beautiful and simple, all at the same time. Suspended coffee is just this.

[ADVERT]I came across Thrive on George when it popped up in my Facebook feed. A friend has posted something about suspended coffee and I was intrigued. I made plans to stop by, and read up a little about the idea. Suspended coffee, or caffè sospeso in Italian, is based on the following - buy two cups of coffee, one for you, one for someone less fortunate.

Thrive on George are relatively early adopters of the suspended coffee idea, having started in April 2013. I dropped by recently to buy myself a coffee and a suspended coffee for someone else. The staff were friendly and told me that the suspended coffee program had just been implemented, which made me the first person to buy a suspended coffee.

I have to share. Given that things are cooling down here in Brisbane, it felt good to know that someone who might need a warm drink, but not be able to afford it, will be able to get one. I will definitely make room for this in my budget.

What a great idea, but who does the suspended coffee go to exactly? Someone who desperately needs it I'm hoping, especially with winter just around the corner!
