Suspended coffee, or caffè sospeso in Italian, is based on the following - buy two cups of coffee, one for you, one for someone less fortunate.

are relatively early adopters of the suspended coffee idea, having started in April 2013. I dropped by recently to buy myself a coffee and a suspended coffee for someone else. The staff were friendly and told me that the suspended coffee program had just been implemented, which made me the first person to buy a suspended coffee.


I have to share. Given that things are cooling down here in Brisbane, it felt good to know that someone who might need a warm drink, but not be able to afford it, will be able to get one. I will definitely make room for this in my budget.
