Typical Gemini, with the concentration span of a gnat & not one for sitting still. My old Da used to say that "you're a long time dead". So my mantra is get busy living. Please join me for more at brizzymaysbooksandbruschettasite.wordpress.com

It's hard to believe that after thirty years living within Brisbane's Redland City Council region, I'm still discovering new parklands to explore.

So put on your walking shoes, grab the sun hats, the water bottle, and the family dog and join me on a twirl through Three Paddocks Park in suburban Birkdale.

Three Paddocks Park is located directly opposite from the Wellington Point High School on Birkdale Road, and as the name suggests, consists of three distinct open space areas linked by a pathway that ends at the edge of Moreton Bay and a canal estate.

The playground area contains all the modern climbing equipment, slides and swings for toddlers and primary school children. For the more adventurous, there is even a flying fox. There are covered picnic huts and gas barbeques if you are looking for an event destination, and wait for it - bathroom facilities!

Plentiful open grassed areas allow for ball sports as does the basketball half-court. There is even a designated BMX station for enthusiasts.

Canines don't miss out with an off-leash area that is fenced and includes spectator seating and poop bags.

I'm told that the fitness equipment is popular with locals, though I do not incline to become better acquainted.

Parking is limited and entering by Walton Way is best if you are loaded up with an esky and Little People. It truly is a pleasant walk with different things to capture the imagination when passing, though may I recommend insect repellant at dusk and dawn.

There are 100's, if not 1000's of parks like this scattered within our suburbs and it's only by walking that we discover them.
