It combines a relaxed cosy atmosphere with the mellow bohemian style of West End and is a great meeting point for a casual coffee with friends.
The laid-back atmosphere allows students to study, eat and drink without feeling rushed and there is always someone reading or working on their computer, so definitely a place you can visit on your own or as part of a crowd.
Prices are a little bit high for my student budget but it doesn't seem to make a difference to its popularity and the choice of menu compensates for the extra couple of dollars. Busy times are in the evenings and at weekend.
On our student coffee crawls I have always found that the Three Monkeys is a landmark site to start or end the journey. It's a café you should visit at least once if you're staying in Brisbane, if not for the food, then just for the big bowl of Chi Tea.
We regularly have a coffee & lunch at 3 Monkeys. Love the atmosphere, comfortable to sit & chat, read etc. Live their chilli con carne, they also have a large array of wonderful looking cakes. Would highly recommend this cafe.
