Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans - John Lennon

Have you tried this quaint little cafe in Melbourne?
I was in Melbourne over the weekend where I paid a visit to this quaint little cafe called Three Bags Full. It is located at the corner of Nicholson St and Mollison St in Abbotsford.

We arrived just after 1pm and fortunately the queue wasn't too dreadfully long. The staff even offered us free home-made cookies and freshly brewed coffee while waiting in line, which is always a nice touch and definitely deserves brownie points in my book.

I love the contemporary artsy ambiance of the cafe, accentuated by its vintage decor.

They offer a wide-ranging selection of lunch and breakfast options on their menu.

We ordered the 'Green Eggs and Ham' and 'Beetroot Cured Salmon'. Service was quick and it only took about 10 minutes for the dishes to arrive, and the portions of both dishes were generous.

Three Bags Full Melbourne
Green Eggs and Ham - scrambled eggs with herbs, crushed peas, grilled leg ham and salted ricotta on toast

The ham was one of the best I've ever tasted, but overall the dish lacked flavour and was a tad underseasoned. The texture was also lacking, with the scrambled egg being noticeably the main player of the dish. A little more ham and a bit more crunch would have made it better.

Beetroot Cured Salmon - with a pea, feta and corn fritter, avocado, rocket, dill sour cream and lemon

The beetroot cured salmon on the other hand was smashing and obviously quite popular. The corn fritter complemented the salmon really well, and overall it was quite a healthy option.

Three Bags Full is definitely one of the best cafes I have been to. According to many reviews out there, it apparently serves really good coffee but I can't vouch for that as I am not a coffee drinker. One tip though, be prepared to share a table with strangers but it shouldn't be a problem anyway.
