The Gilbert & Sullivan Society presents Thoroughly Modern Millie' playing at The Arts Theatre from September 29th until October 2nd
Thoroughly Modern Millie is a musical romance with music by Jeanine Tesori, lyrics by Dick Scanlan and a book by Richard Morris and Scanlan.
It is based on the 1967 academy award winning film of the same name. Millie is a small town girl fresh off the train in New York city. She has big dreams to work as a secretary for an eligible bachelor, and marry him. That's simple enough, right?
Things don't go to plan when, after a wealthy bachelor called Trevor Graydon turns her down, she falls head over heels for Jimmy who doesn't have a penny to his name.
Director David Sinclair says audiences of all ages will fall in love with "Millie".
