Serving up oodles of family fun this April

Fremantle will be transformed into Funmantle, a giant playground for kids from 10 to 18 April. This family-friendly community event is spread across four seaside locations including the Mystical Kings Castle at Esplanade Reserve, Shipwreck Alley outside the WA Shipwreck Museum, Salty Sailors Landing at Bathers Beach and the Magical Market Bazaar outside Fremantle Markets.

Highlights include:

  • Eight carnival rides across the four seaside locations. There will be two rides at each location and special activities along the way. Rides will close at 3 pm each day (2 pm on Saturday 10 April).

  • Daily opportunities to meet and have a photo with mermaids, unicorns and giant flamingos near Salty Sailor's Landing at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour. Mermaid Nixie will be at Mews Park Fisherman's Jetty from 11 am - 1 pm. You can see unicorns in Mews Park from 12 pm - 2 pm. Giant Flamingos can be found in the water along the boardwalk at 'Flamingo Bay' in Mews Park from 10 am - 3 pm each day.

  • The WA Shipwrecks Museum has pesky creatures hiding in the museum on the Riddled with Rats trail. Enter the museum and see if you can find all the rats and surprise your friends with a rat-in-a-box papercraft from 10 am - 2 pm, Saturday 3 - Sunday 18 April.

  • Enter a competition using your official This is Funmantle map to win great prizes. Simply visit all four locations to complete the trail and collect at least one stamp from each of the four locations to enter. First prize is a $500 Toyworld Fremantle voucher.

This is a ticketed event and bookings are essential. All purchases are online only. Present your ticket at your starting location to receive your official This is Funmantle map which gives you entry to each ride.

Each child will need one ticket. The $5 ticket (95c booking fee) will be the entry to all four locations and entitle each child to 8 rides. A ticket entitles each ticket holder to ONE turn on each ride only. Adults do not need a ticket unless you anticipate that you will need to accompany children on rides.
