This 50 hectares landscape at Moores Creek Rd, Park Avenue has been described as Rockhampton's big backyard for all people to enjoy. So what can you do at Kershaw Garden in Rockhampton?

The newest and biggest playground area can be found here. Located at Central Precinct Kershaw Garden, the playground consists of 2 areas, Wyatt's Wonder Web and other play equipment and also a water play area .

Walking trails
Northern Precinct and Southern Precinct consist of a magnificent garden completed with a cement path walking trail that is also perfect for scooter or bike riding. There are some walking trails around the garden, such as Southern Rainforest, Rainforest Rapids and Vietnam Veteran's Hill. Perfect photo opportunity**
Kershaw Garden's magnificent garden is also a favourite place for locals to take amazing photos. It is a favourite to take pre-wedding pictures, especially around the broad platform near the waterfall area.

Picnics, small events and other outdoor activities**
There are lots of big trees around Kershaw Garden which are perfect for picnics. There are some picnic tables around the playground as well to host children's birthday parties. Plenty of outdoor space amongst Kershaw Garden's beautiful well-maintained grass area for small events or any outdoor activities.

Learn about native plants and wildlife
While you are enjoying the garden, you can also learn and inspect an array of native flora that has been planted throughout the area as well as wildlife such as birds that inhabit the garden. There is also a range of sensory gardens with accessible pathways to get you there.

Pet-friendly place
Dogs are welcome at but must be on a leash at all times, except within the off-leash agility park. Rockhampton Regional Council has opened a new fully fenced dog agility park and off-leash area near the Charles Street entrance. The space incorporated an obstacle course in an attempt to alleviate dog-related issues the council regularly deals with such as barking and roaming, brought about by boredom.

Free camping area
has 35 self-contained 48-hour free camping sites nestled in the lush green parkland with access off from High Street. Just remember that all vehicles must be able to store all grey water, all black water and all rubbish. Generator use is permitted between 8 am and 7 pm only.

With accessible walking trails and playground equipment that incorporates all abilities, surely there are plenty of things you can do and something for everyone at Kershaw Garden.
