Visit the Australia Zoo

Situated on the Sunshine Coast, Australia Zoo is one of the most visited Zoos in Australia. Steve Irwin made this Zoo a household name, and millions of tourists flock to this attraction every year. The Zoo boasts a diverse array of amazing animals from all the four corners of the world. The Aussie favourites like the wombats, koalas, kangaroos and crocodiles are found here, but it is the African exhibits that lure families.

Go fishing in Davis Bay or at Trout Lake

With dozens of waterways, estuaries, rivers and creeks, the Sunshine Coast provides a ton of fishing opportunities. Davis Bay is one of the best fishing spots in the area. The Chapman Creek Hatchery, nestled between Roberts Creek and Sechelt, has played a vitally important role in keeping local fish stocks high. Trout Lake also offers anglers the chance to catch surface-feeding fish.

Scuba diving

If you are looking for the best dive spot, don't look very far. The Sunshine Coast is considered the perfect scuba diving destination in Australia. There are more than 100 diving spots on the Sunshine Coast, but Saltery Bay this is one of the region's signature shore dives that keeps divers coming back for more. Experienced divers here can take advantage of water depths exceeding 190 feet, as well as sheer walls and cliffs.

Spend a day at the Yandina Ginger factory

If scuba diving is not your cup of tea, visit Yandina Ginger factory. Here you will get to learn everything about ginger. You will also enjoy a historical train ride at the factory, and this along with the available tours, makes a trip to the Yandina Ginger factory worth considering. Don't forget to purchase some ginger flavoured delights while at the factory.

Visit One of the Many National Parks

The Sunshine Coast boasts more National Parks than any other region in Queensland. There are seven National Parks in total. These parks provide plenty of waterfalls to visit and forests to explore. The region's forests areas are home to lots of wildlife and there are a number of scenic spots to unwind and enjoy the picnic. If you have older children, hikes in these Parks can be a memorable experience.

Visit the Underwater World

No visit to Sunshine Coast is complete without a stop at the Underwater World. This is the ultimate all-season attraction. The Underwater World offers visitors a chance to walk through a shark tunnel, glimpse seals, crocs, otters, sea horses, fishes, sharks, turtles, stingrays and starfish. There are many facts to acquire some new knowledge scattered throughout, combined with an extensive range of informative talks.

Visit Fraser Island

Fraser Island is a fun-filled holiday spot that everyone should tour. There are dozens of attractions on the island that makes it more fun to visit. The island is covered by rainforests, bordered by miles of beautiful white sand beaches as well as dazzlingly colourful sand cliffs and shrouded in a serene atmosphere. The island is a highly recommended destination for holidaymakers visiting Sunshine Coast.

Go shopping

There are a number of markets on the Sunshine Coast where you can buy locally made crafts and products. Be sure to check the dates for these markets before going as some are only opened a few times a month, and some have specific hours that they're open. Boasting more than 300 stalls, the Eumundi Market is Sunshine Coast's and open Wednesdays and Saturdays. Whatever market you choose, be sure to check the dates and times before you go shopping.

Millions of tourists from around the globe visit the Sunshine every year and for good reasons. The choice is yours, but if you are in search of a perfect holiday destination this season, then you should consider the Sunshine Coast.
