Reservoir is 12 kilometres North of the Melbourne CBD. The suburb has plenty of transport options, some beautiful creek trails, and a pleasing range of cafes, restaurants and bars.

Shopping in Reservoir

Edwardes Street runs West to East near the middle of the suburb (intersected by High Street), and many stores cluster around this area and the train station.

Sargent's Cakes is located at 40 Edwardes Street and sells pies, pastries, and delicious cakes. The store is open from 6am to 5.30pm (closed Sundays), and they are only open in the mornings on Saturdays.



Calypso Fashion is at 2a Edwardes Street and is open from 9am to 5.30pm everyday except Sundays. This women's fashion store sells blouses, skirts, dresses, handbags, and accessories.

Oggi for Men is at 287 Spring Street Reservoir. This menswear store sells jackets, shirts, and t-shirts, from brands such as Stussy, Le Coq, and Tokyo Laundry. Ogee are open 10am to 5.30pm from Monday to Thursday (to 8pm on Fridays), and 9am to 5pm Saturdays, and 10am to 3pm on Sundays.

Parks and Playgrounds

Edwardes Lake Park is on the corner of Edwardes and Griffiths Street in Reservoir. The park has two playgrounds , a walking trail, and a picnic area.

J.C. Donath Reserve has sports fields, a playground, and room for the kids to run around. Wagga Road runs through the middle, in the northern part of the suburb.

Cafes and Restaurants

Lady Bower is at 1A Marchant Avenue in Reservoir. They have a daytime, and an evening menu. Specialities include chilli and feta scrambled eggs, pumpkin pancakes, delicious arancini, and their house made soda and dairy-free smoothies from the drinks menu. A great review is here . The cafe is open from 7.30am to 4pm on weekdays (and from 8am on weekends).

Clayton and Me serve breakfast and lunch , including home made crumpets, gourmet scrambled eggs, a range of burgers, salads, and more. Clayton and Me are open from 7am to 5pm on weekdays, and from 7.30am on weekends.

Off the Boat is at 203 Edwardes Road in Reservoir making fresh pizza , and refreshing gelato. The wine menu is also impressive, and daily specials are on offer. The restaurant is closed on Mondays, but they are open from 5pm to 10pm on Tuesdays, and from noon on other days.

Bars and Pubs

Relux Bar is open from everyday until 1am, and is at 204 Broadway in Reservoir. The venue has live music on a regular basis, and deluxe cocktails in a comfortable setting (as well as coffee and snacks during the day).



The Rose Shamrock Hotel is at 709 Plenty Road in Reservoir. It has a bistro, and is open from 9am, with the bar open to late.

How to Get to Reservoir

Reservoir is about 30 minutes drive heading North from the city. It is a large suburb so if you are taking public transport, it is best to plan ahead. Reservoir train station (or Ruthven a bit further North) are on the South Morang line and service the area. The route 86 tram also goes all the way to Reservoir.
