Torquay is a township in Victoria that is 21 kilometres south of Geelong. It is where the famous Great Ocean Road begins.

The Torquay area is known for its surf beaches, with Jan Juc and Bells Beach the most notable. Torquay is also the head office for many major surf companies like Rip Curl and Quiksilver.

Attractions in Torquay include the Surfworld Museum at Surf City Plaza, Beach Road. Entry is $10 for an Adult. The Torquay Central Farmers Market is also worth checking out on Saturday mornings from 8.30am outside Torquay Central. Fill a picnic hamper with local cheese, bread, jam, cheese, and wine, and head down to the foreshore.
Places to eat that are great quality and still reasonably priced:

Breakfast - Cafe Moby is at 41 The Esplanade Torquay (Phone: 03 5261 2339), and looks across to the water. Specialties include creative breakfasts, and fresh sandwiches.

Lunch - Scorched is at 17 The Esplanade Torquay (Phone: 03 5261 6142) and has mouth-watering middle eastern dishes, and light desserts.

Dinner - The Surfrider is at 26 Bell Street (Phone: 03 5261 6477) and is a seafood and steakhouse restaurant open for dinner.

Best places to stay:

Budget Accommodation - Torquay Foreshore Caravan Park at 35 Bell Street Torquay has a range of great value cabins that sleep couples or families.

Boutique Accommodation - The Woolshed B&B is at 75 Aquarius Way Torquay, and has two comfortable suites, with a pool and tennis court.
