As the weather starts to get warmer and the days start to get longer, it's much easier to leave the comfort of your house than it was in the dead of winter. With that in mind, here are 5 things to do this October in the capital:
See a Theater Performance Book a ticket for
Cruel Intentions: the 90's musical (5 - 9 October) based on the Hollywood cult classic by the same name. Check out Floriade On until 16 October, Floriade will wow guests with a vibrant display of over a million blooms. Along with blooms, there will also be workshops, performances, a gin garden and more. Take a Look at the finalists On until 9 October, take a look at the National Photographic Portrait Prize Exhibition at the portrait gallery. Walk around the marketsWith the weather warming, it is now perfect weather to walk around the stalls at the Little Burley Market. Go for a run for a good causeOn 16 October, run4reef, a synchronised race event will be taking place across 21 cities in Australia and New Zealand, including Canberra. With a global scoreboard, this event will be a little different to the normal charity run as you can race against friends and family in different cities, but it will still be raising funds to maintain and restore the Great Barrier Reef.
