Marla is a town in South Australia, about 1,082 kilometres north-west Adelaide, 676 km north of Port Augusta and 159 km south of the Northern Territory border on the Stuart Highway. The name is derived from the Marla Bore, which is located to the west of Marla and most possible comes from the Aboriginal word for a kangaroo, 'Marlu'. Marla is located over the road from the new Ghan railway line.

Marla is a stopover point which was opened in 1982 and boasts a comprehensive range of facilities all in one place for the traveler and locals alike, including a caravan park, camping facilities, hotel and motel accommodation, a restaurant, bar, 24/7 service station, supermarket and art gallery known as Marla Travelers' Rest Roadhouse. The town also includes a health centre operated on behalf of the state government by the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, a regional police station and Marla Airport (also known as Marla Aerodrome) that is located about 3.3 km to the south of the town. In 2016 census, it recorded population of 100 people.

For your convenience, there are 45 studio motel rooms and 25 twin bed cabins available at Marla Travelers' Rest Roadhouse, as well as a lawn site for camping with over 50 powered sites available for caravans. You can find Foxtel TV in each room, tea and coffee facilities and 1 hour free WiFi voucher when you book for a motel room.

For dining, there are home cooked meals in their restaurant. They also provide breakfast with great value and various options for lunch.
