Lorne is a seaside town on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. It is situated about the Erskine River and is a short drive from the Erskine Falls. The town is well known for the Lorne Pier to Pub swimming event, and The Falls Music Festival held around New Years.

The town has a quaint shopping village, and a safe and broad swimming beach. There are also plenty of options for sightseeing, dining, and accommodation.

There are several arts and crafts venues in Lorne. Qdos Arts Gallery at 35 Allenvale Road has fine art, a sculpture park, and a cafe. A market is also held on the foreshore once per season with crafts, hand-made items, and food stalls. The next event is on Saturday 8th of June 2013 from 9am to 1pm.

Most of the restaurants are along Mountjoy Parade, and there are plenty of cheap options for the family. Pizza Pizza at 2 Mountjoy Parade is a small place, but is well known for their delicious and cheap pizzas. Bottle of Milk at 53 Mountjoy Parade has outstanding burgers and chips, and playful staff.

Lorne caters to surfers, backpackers, and tourists, and accommodation can book out quickly. Grand Pacific Hotel is slightly out of town at 268 Mountjoy Parade, but a great way to get away from the crowds of tourists in the Summer months. Built in 1875 with superb ocean views, it provides luxurious and welcoming accommodation, with access to a restaurant and main bar.
