Stuck for something to do on a Sunday? Here is a list of things to do around town on a Sunday that will truly spice up your weekend -

1. Head to the markets! There are many to choose from in locations around Brisbane. What you need to decipher is what kind of markets you are in the mood for-

Eat Street Markets at Hamilton wharf offers a delectable range of street food with the atmosphere of an Asian food market. Now open on Sundays 10am to 7pm.
The Finders Keepers Market is located at the heritage listed Old Museum, next to the RNA showgrounds in Brisbane. The markets bring together both local designers, and creative folk from all around Australia.

The Sandgate High School Markets - fresh fruit and vegetable, new and second hand clothes, delicious food stalls and pet supplies.
Creative designer markets (a few to choose from here) - furniture, jewelry, clothes.
The Discovery Markets at Rocklea - around 380 stalls of eclectic goodness.
Mt Gravatt Farmers and Flea Market - you can even own your own store for the day by turning up with $25 and the stuff you wish to sell.
Eagle Farm markets - a variety of stalls.
Baby markets - variety of location. Pick up second hand children's goods. Many activities are available which make for an entertaining family day.

2. Watch a free movie at The State Library of Queensland .

3. Lust over books at Folio Bookstore , a wealth of beautiful books are housed here. Buy one and take your read to the French Twist at the Barracks. Enjoy the setting and the beautiful pastries.

4. Try your hand at a Floating Yoga Class . Nothing says a good core workout like doing yoga on a stand up paddle board. This latest craze makes for a tranquil toning session.

5. Pick up a bargain at some of the most noteable op shops in Brisbane.

6. Let yourself be taken away to another world at Casablanca's Salsa Sunday session.

7. Spend your Sunday day tripping . A list dedicated to local trips out of town - a perfect way to spend your Sunday.

8. Celebrate Sangria Sunday. Nothing says Sunday finer then a pitcher of Sangria. Supported by the Beach Burrito Company in West End, The Sangria Bar at South Bank, and Peasant Restaurant at The Barracks.

9. Take a cosmic trip to the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium . Located in the Botanical Gardens of Mt Cootha this is a fun and educational thing to do on a Sunday. Be sure to find time to visit the tranquil Japanese gardens in the Botanical Gardens after your are done.

10. Visit one of Brisbane's finest cafes .

11. Relax and listen to music. The Morrison Hotel always has a good band on Sunday afternoons. Check out the resident DJ at Watt Dining for a laid back session starting from 3pm. The Boo has a DJ on Sundays also. Enjoy whilst playing a serious round of lawn bowls. Black Bear Lodge boasts some great new talent! Located in the Fortitude Valley, music from 7pm. Enjoy music at its finest at the Brisbane Jazz Club at Kangaroo point.

12. Stock up on cheese, relish and fresh sour dough from the Rosalie Gourmet Market and head to your local park to devour your delicious purchases in the outdoors.

13. Head to Stoke Bar in Southbank and share a few small plates and a glass of wine all whilst admiring one of the most fabulous views in Brisbane.

14. Take a hike .

15. Go to Chocolate Patisserie-Morningside #hours_base brownie heaven . One reviewer compared this shop to Pierre Herme in Paris! Not much else to say after that comment except this will be a satisfying Sunday jaunt.

16. Visit the Institute of Modern Art and check out their latest exhibit.

17. The Red Hill Art Gallery labels itself as the best art gallery in Brisbane representing over 120 artists. With such a large collection of work there's something here for everyone.

18. Eat one of the best pies in Queensland (in my view anyways) on route to Mt Tamborine.

19. Take a bike ride .

20. Eat your weight in haloumi at the Little Greek Taverna . My favorite is the one drizzled with honey.

21. Become a coffee connoisseur at Campos coffee tasting session. Held every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Cost is $30 which includes 250g of coffee to take home.

22. Enjoy a movie and a meal, snacks and beverages (served to you whilst watching a movie) at the Blueroom Cinebar in Paddington.

23. Head to West End and enjoy tasting some craft beers at The Burrow .

24. Purchase extremely cheap second hand designer gear in The Wintergarden at Designer Archives . Whether you are looking for Gucci, or Armani, this establishment has many preloved items looking for a new love (you). Or if you have any designer gear in good condition, they can sell it for you!

25. Shisha! Not the healthiest of options but it is a great way to unwind and relax, especially with some brewed tea. If smoking some flavored tobacco (my favorite is grape and mint) whilst sitting on some floor cushions sounds tempting, head to Persian Cafe Rendez Vous on Park Road in Milton. You can even play backgammon whilst enjoying your hookah pipe.

26. I know this might sound a little 'geekish' but trust me, you will have fun. The Science Centre is a fascinating place and a cool way to spend some of your time. Located in South Bank.

27. Ride the FREE red ferry on the Brisbane river and explore the city .

28. Pick your own strawberries . Variety of location around Brisbane.
