Kick the leaves this Autumn and experience this great season
Autumn is here - nature starts looking different, there's a little chill in the air, daylight savings comes to an end, you start craving comfort foods and dusting off your fluffy coats, here is a list is 5 things to enjoy this season in Adelaide.
1. Pirate Life Brewery. From humble beginnings, this Adelaide born brewery has now opened its doors and in historic Port Adelaide. The multi-purpose venue serves as an educational (and not so educational) tasting space, brewery, of course, official merchandise store, and soon it will even host a barber shop (Robbies Chop Shop). Sit back, put your feet up and enjoy some locally crafted beer in the up and coming Port Adelaide.
Immerse all your senses in this new season. Local produce, fresh flowers, new recipes to try and the unique inspiring atmosphere that Adelaide Central Market never fails to deliver! If you are looking for more than shopping, there is plenty to do this Autumn at the market, cooking classes, floristry workshops, kids cooking sessions, tastings and demonstrations. With a change of seasons, comes a change of clothing. Don't spend all your hard earned dollars on expensive stuff, instead take the opportunity to clear your wardrobe from any unwanted items and head to Savers (Noarlunga, Churchill Road or Tea Tree Gully), every time you make a donation you get a little stamp on your "Legend Card" which gives you further discounts.
Shopping at Savers is always good if you are on a budget, but also if you want to find something unique, vintage or simply different to what is on offer at regular retailers.
4. Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens. No Adelaide Autumn can be called that without a leisurely walk through this stunning spot. This free, all ages activity can be enjoyed in many different ways: hike the trails, become a flower enthusiast, snap a picture through the deep colours, pack a picnic, gather a group and do some yoga, or even bring a blanket and a book. Whatever you are into, a visit to Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens is a definite must in Autumn.
5. Pizza Meccanica. What better way to embrace those chilly evenings than with some hand made fresh pizza? This old service station and mechanical repair garage has been brought back to life and turned into a very stylish hidden gem.
Pizza Meccanica serves true Neapolitan pizza, and although it is not so budget friendly, the atmosphere of the place, hospitable service, freshness of their products and the top quality ingredients will justify every cent you pay! Awarded Best Pizza Restaurant in SA 2018... and even that award is an understatement to the food they serve.
