Wayne delivers a fast-paced, hilarious, and all-too-relatable script, to the point I found myself mentally performing a checklist during the play, as I was reminded of each stupid thing I (or an ex) had done after breaking up.

There's no post-breakup remedy, better than a good belly laugh, and Things Not To Do After A Breakup delivers with gusto. Even if you're not single anymore, you'll still appreciate the humour.
The story focuses on Lauren who thinks she has it all, until she's dumped by her boyfriend, Gideon, and dropped by her literary agent, all on the same day. Devastated, Lauren lashes out, making all kinds of mistakes until her friends make her realise the only way she can get over Gideon is to write a book about the "Things Not To Do After a Break Up".

What follows is a kaleidoscope of one-night stands, awkward encounters with ex's, and champagne-fuelled bitch-fests.
Every good breakup deserves a theme song, and Things Not To Do After A Breakup utilises all the best ones from the likes of Alanis Morisette, Justin Timberlake, Adele, Lady Gaga, and Gotye, (amongst others) and blends them effortlessly - in one glorious scene, Kelly tries to win back a newfound partner with love song quotes, that will have you gasping for breath, between non-stop chuckles.
It's boldly dramatic, unapologetically over the top, chock full of laughs, and yet almost nostalgic, reminding us of a time pre-Tinder, when people had real relationships with defined breakups instead of just being 'ghosted'.
Even though breakups are painful, there's much to love about this play and a night of laughter is much cheaper than years of therapy.
