The gamblers' paradise, a trendy tourist destination, the entertainment capital of the world, the place where all sins are forgiven... Who has not heard about Vegas? Sin City means different things and has a wide range of symbolic meanings, but it is best know for:

Gambling

A still illegal activity in many parts of the world, gambling has been legal in the state of Nevada since 1931. This is when the first casino in Las Vegas (Pair-o-Dice) club opened its doors, on U.S. Route 91. The first casino in the area known as Las Vegas Strip was inaugurated only 10 years later under the name of El Rancho. Its name does not feature the list of historical casinos in Vegas as El Rancho was 20 years after its inauguration destroyed by a fire. But these were only the beginnings… Nowadays Vegas offers over one hundred casinos and many other gambling spots: slots and poker machines, table games, etc.

Extreme summer heat, mild winters

Located in the Mojave Desert, Las Vegas can experience extreme temperatures during the hot season. The climate remains bearable as it is a dry heat. However, if you visit Vegas during the summer it is better you opt for indoors activities. If you want to go for an ATV or mud bike ride, winter is the perfect time for it as the sun remains sunny and the temperatures are more suitable for outdoor activities.

Shows, concerts and top notch entertainment

Las Vegas has rightfully billed itself as the Entertainment Capital of the World. The impressive spectacle of neon lights that seizes the Strip every evening, the dazzling number of shows the city's stages put up on a daily basis, big music names calling Vegas their home are just few of the reasons for it.

The Strip

The heart of the city, Las Vegas Boulevard is better known among the locals and tourists equally as the Strip. Here you will find the world's most glamorous hotels, including the Venetian and the Mirage, the iconic Stratosphere Tower, Fremont Street and all sorts of other attractions.

Celebrities

Except Hollywood, there is no better place for celebrities spotting than Vegas. Some come here to attend events, others to host parties in Sin City's worldwide famous clubs, some to hit the tables in the casinos, while others just want to be seen.
