Theo's Grill – Mouille Point is situated on the seafront with amazing sea views from its wide bay windows and the ever popular enclosed patio.
The restaurant was founded 30 years ago and has since been popular for its varied cuisine with both locals and tourists. The décor has been designed to create an inviting ambience, which works wonderfully with the welcoming staff who are superbly familiar with the menu.
The fantastic menu begins with salads and light meals. There is a large variety of salad choices including Theo's traditional Greek salad, Roquefort salad and seasonal melon and feta salad. Starters comprise of champagne oysters, trinchado with seared beef or chicken mildly spiced in a Portuguese dressing, crumbed mushrooms with home made tartare, snails and portuguese sardines to name a few. Mains highlight the grill with fillet, rump, sirloin, karoo lamb chops, oxtail and spare ribs on offer. Steaks combined with delightful sauces appear with sauces including avocado and biltong, pepper and blue cheese. Surf and turf is always a popular choice involving sole and calamari, prawns or calamari and steak, or a ribs and prawn combination. A variety of game is available like ostrich, kudu, and bushman kebabs, veal, burgers and steak rolls, seafood, shellfish, poultry and pastas. A wide variety of dessert choices are also on offer through your waitress, as well as cheese platters comprising a selection of cheeses, figs and biscuits.
A large variety of wines is also available as well as sparkling or still water, soda and juices.
Also open for lunch Theo's has a number of specials available including oysters R8 each, 15 prawns for R99, line fish R99, 250 gram sirloin steak R99, Baby king klip and prawns or calamari R110 and a seafood platter for R139.
My party of 4 ordered the delicious Theos traditional Greek salad with generous servings of feta cheese, and three serves of Theo's special 1kg of prawns served with seasoned rice or chips and basted in a peri peri sauce (from a choice of peri peri, garlic sauce and butter) - for R99. The service was fantastic and the food arrived quickly with very hearty portions.
Theo's grill at Mouille point with its enchanting views and delicious food always delights (on every visit!).
