Triple the fun

September school holidays are just around the corner and before we can say 'jack be nimble, jack be quick', the Christmas school holidays will be upon us too. I know that parents are always on the lookout for something special to do with the most important little people in our lives - so, why not grab a couple, or three, Annual Passes to our very own Theme Parks on the Sunshine Coast and then book your holiday accommodation around that. Alternatively, a day trip from Brisbane is just over an hour's drive, so if you can keep them amused in the car for the short trip to the Sunshine Coast, I'm sure you'll be blessed with very happy off-spring.

While we don't have the extensive range of Theme Parks on the Sunshine Coast that many of the other States have (or even the Gold Coast, further south), we DO have three that we can claim the bragging rights to.

Australia Zoo - Crikey! can you believe that?
1638 Steve Irwin Way, Beerwah, QLD

Australia Zoo have so many fun activities organised for the whole family. From the 17 September to the 2 October 2016 heaps of Spring Holiday Fun has been organised - you can embark on Robert's Treasure Hunt, using a glass decoder to find hidden clues to follow to unlock a treasure chest with a prize; Bindi and the Jungle Girls are performing live daily in the Crocoseum from 11.30 in the morning; you can get to meet Bindi and get Bindi and the Jungle Girls CD autographed (this is on Sunday 2 October); and Pony Rides will be run daily at Bindi's Pony Trails.

All this excitement plus the opportunity to stroll around and enjoy over one thousand two hundred wild animals - crikey! it's surely going to be a memorable time.

An Annual Pass at Australia Zoo is $99 for Adults and $59 for children, with so many benefits:-

20% off Caddie Tours;
10% off Retail;
10% off Feeding Frenzy Eateries;
Loyalty Programme - Retail and Encounter Credits; and
Annual Renewal Packages

Underwater World Sea Life Mooloolaba
Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba, QLD

Underwater World has a variety of activities which will appeal to the whole family too. They have the Shark Dive Xtreme, where you will come face to face with various shark species, stingrays and fish. Scuba Training is given, so experience is not a pre-requisite for you to swim and explore the underwater habitat of the deep-sea world. Friends and family can even get to watch you from the underwater viewing tunnel.

If the shark tank is not your cup of tea, how about a swim with the resident seals - you'll even get a photo taken with one (a great show-'n-tell for when you get back to school). Perhaps, the Ocean Ranger Programme is more up your alley - you'll get to meet the animals, feed them, get to see the seal presentation and even receive a Certificate of Participation for this great activity.

We all have birthdays, so how about a birthday party at Underwater World - they have a great selection of these too - an Aqua Birthday Party, Ocean Birthday Party, an Octonauts Birthday Party or maybe a Shark Snorkel Adventure Birthday Party - wish we had these when I was younger.

An Annual Pass at Underwater World is $80 for Adults (15 plus years) and $55 for children; children age two and younger are free. For your Annual Pass click #annual_pass ">here

Aussie World - 'Fun's our Thing'
73 Frizzo Rd, Palmview, QLD

Just in time for the September school holidays, Aussie World have a September Super Pass - for only $49 and valid for multiple entries from 1 September until 3 October, they're making sure you can have unlimited twirly, splashy, speedy and bumpy fun the whole holiday.

Oh my gosh, they have so much happening at Aussie World, I think you might need more than one day - with rides of every description, the ferris wheel, the carousel, the dodgems, the bug run, the space shaker, the giant slide, water rides, mini golf and even one of my favourites, illusionarium! Have you ever done one like this before? I have and let me tell you, the illusions are so realistic, it can be breath-holding, scary, unbelievable, all with much giggling and laughing, I can guarantee a belly ache.

With ample food outlets, the family definitely won't go hungry, the retail shops will keep Mum entertained while the rest of the gang are being dodgem'd or carousel'd around Aussie World.

Aussie World is open 363 days of the year (they're closed for Christmas Day and Anzac Day) from 10h00am to 5.00pm
Family of Four Passes are $144 or $136 online;
Family of Five Passes are $175 or $167 online; and
