Theatresports, the match to end all matches
Free Champagne, lollies and lots of fun.
Do you love a great sporting match and the atmosphere of each team giving their all for glory? If so, you will really enjoy TheatreSports. Minds are stretched to the limit and the words that come to mouth at the test of necessity astound. TheatreSports is for comedy, theatre and sports lovers, so you can't go wrong. The crowd cheers on as teams match off using all their ingenuity to gain judge and audience recognition.
TheatreSports runs every Sunday 7-9pm until November 17, Price 20 Full $15 Concession The Location David Williamson Theatre 35 St John St Prahran
Definitely, do not miss a spot at the final on Sunday November 24. There's likely to be blood, sweat and tears (All mimed, of course).
David Williamson Theatre is centrally located in Prahran near to the corner of High St and Chapel St. The theatre bustles and brims once full. From the sounds last night, people who attend TheatreSports don't just attend once, they're in it for the season.
If you need to fill the hole of footy that the Grand Final has left in your life, then come here. There's plenty of game going on here. \ It is explosive and relatively clean entertainment. This is family-friendly but I warn you, your kids will be nagging you for Impro classes after this.
The amount of polished and skilled performances which came together out of circumstances was astounding. The cast is an ensemble of Impro Melbourne and Rookies. Check out their faces on the website and watch their wit and vim come to life on the night. Music is masterfully provided by pianist Pan Reed. The technical director Teddy Lines brings the world of the imagination to life.
Theatre Sports is run by Impro Melbourne. Formed in 1996 by Russell Fletcher & Christine Keogh. They are inspired by the philosophy of Keith Johnstone, author of 1979 Impro: Improvisation and the Theatre, and the 1999 Impro For Storytellers. Their interest is in creating engaging, challenging and entertaining shows. Sunday night's experience was certainly that and more.
TheatreSports could be for you. Impro Melbourne runs workshops. Stretch your brain, fill your senses. Their catchphrase is we ignite your creativity. Be inspired!
