If your idea of a perfect night out is dinner and a show, and you've always wondered how to combine the two, you'll enjoy these exciting theatre restaurants located in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Since its inception in 1962, Draculas Cabaret Restaurant (1 Hooker Boulevard, Broadbeach Waters) has been a crowd pleaser. Draculas is a theatre restaurant, with a stage show performance and its own costuming and prop department, but it's the little things that make this restaurant stand out above the others like the ghost train that takes patrons inside, the haunted house or the Kids Party Palace, offering spooky parties for children. The menu has suitable offerings like Silence of the Lambs, Bram Stokers Beef and Death by Chocolate. Bookings are essential and prives can be found here.

Enjoy an exotic night out at Brazilian Touch Restaurant (18 McLachlan Street, Fortitude Valley) where you might find yourself joining a conga line or doing the salsa. This venue presents a Brazilian carnival, with dancers and performers, plus a delicious Brazilian barbeque (including dishes like seafood mornay, coconut rice, egg salad and seasonal fruits) and a selection of cocktails and mocktails (so designated drivers needn't feel left out!) Discounts and specials apply for group bookings.

Stage Door Dinner Theatre (Twelfth Night Complex, 4 Cintra Road, Bowen Hills) is the permanent home of Starbuck Productions, an entertainment production company that has seen performances from such luminaries as Mickey Rooney and Rhonda Burchmore. Both the menu and the performances calendar are varied try prawn twisters, grilled reef fish, vegetable lasagne, pavlova and gluten free desserts while enjoying a 1980's Retro-spekt, a Christmas Wonderland play or Movie Madness (with the cast singing songs from hit movies like Grease, Flash Dance and Chicago.) Ticket prices vary depending on times; see here for prices and here for show times.

A night out at a theatre restaurant is a less expensive alternative to doing dinner and a show separately, and provides an exciting dinner experience.
