has become an annual event hosted by Brooklyn Community Theatre. It takes place in Bird Park (also known as Rest Park) off the Pacific Highway in Brooklyn. The event came into being in 1999 after Ray Bontoft and Peter Hughes came up with the idea of a theatre group after the community's only hall closed, leaving the community with no live entertainment options. That year 480 people attended the event.

This year, the outdoor stage will host a performance of a murder mystery by Agatha Christie on Saturday November 10. There will be a picnic atmosphere and you should bring something to sit on, whether it be a chair or a rug. There will be refreshments available, including hot meals prepared by a local chef, as well as hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, soft drinks and kids' snacks.

There is no parking onsite. However parking is available in other areas of Brooklyn and also in Mooney Mooney, which lies on the other side of the Hawkesbury River. Courtesy buses will run from 6pm onwards in a loop between the Anglers Rest Hotel, Brooklyn Road, Brooklyn and the Mooney Mooney Club, Kowan Road, Mooney Mooney. You can also flag down the courtesy bus anywhere along the road (it will be clearly signed). The last bus from Rest Park will leave at 11pm.

The entire event will run from 6.00pm to 10.30pm, with curtains gong up at 8.30pm. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for concessions and those under 16. A family ticket (for up to two adults and three under 16s) will cost $35. There is no charge for children under five years old. You can purchase your tickets at the gate on the night, through the website or from Hawkesbury River Real Estate in Brooklyn. A $5 discount is available on every four tickets purchased in advance.

Brooklyn lies on the banks of the Hawkesbury River and is part of Hornsby Shire, which is currently hosting its Festival of the Arts. This even began on Saturday October 13 and will run to Sunday November 25. is just one of the attractions that makes up the festival, and you can visit the council's website for more information on other events taking place around Hornsby during this time.
