Situated in the basement of The Intercontinental Hotel on the marina, The Yacht Club is a visual treat; dark lighting, glossy marble floor, a dance floor, a DJ booth with table dancers either side, and the outdoor decking with seating overlooking the marina, you can't fail to be impressed.
The music is generally chart and dance hits, and the dance floor is packed. It's a great place to people watch, and just enjoy yourself. Dancing close to the DJ platform is great too because they have a live saxophone player who plays with most songs! The bar is always busy so be patient, and double check your change because they tend to short change customers.
The drinks are tasty drinks, they serve generous portions, and mocktails are available. When it's loud and busy make sure you know what you want because the bar is full and the staff are impatient. The drinks are also expensive: 10DHS for bottled water, champagne is free on ladies night (Wednesdays), but alcoholic and other soft drinks are pricey.
Sushi is available both day and night, too, so if you're hungry after dancing the night away and feeling you need something in an inebriated state try the sushi, it's delicious.
